Regional Account Manager (Central/Midwest) - Software Sales

Basho is rapidly expanding our global sales and marketing team. Experience;

• Passion for cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, web and mobile architectures and/or open source software
• Curiosity and extensive participation in social media to build relationships and uncover new business opportunities
• Proven ability to successfully engage software developers, software engineering and IT operations
• Experience engaging technical communities of interest, such as developer-oriented meet-ups, and industry-specific technical functions
• Previous participation in high-growth, early-stage technology industries

Responsibilities;

• Aggressively prospect, identify, qualify and develop sales pipeline in geographic territory for fortune 500 companies
• Work closely with members of the sales team and other critical internal organizations to support account sales and business development strategies
• Drive adoption of Riak within a specified territory, including the identification, qualification and signing of new Basho customers
• Achieve or exceed sales performance objectives
• Ensure daily administration of salesforce.com for pipeline and activity management
• Ensure timely follow-up and development of inbound new business opportunities
• Provide coordination of Basho resources to support prospective customer engagement needs, such as on-site tech talks and professional services
• Champion new business opportunities with Basho management

Requirements:

 

• 3 - 5 years of experience in enterprise software sales; database and open source preferred
• BA/BS or equivalent work experience
• Demonstrated history of consistent goal achievement
• Experience selling into technical user base and C-level
• Outstanding relationship building skills with an exceptional degree of integrity
• Energetic, tenacious team player with excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Proven success as a leading individual contributor, as a team player, and as a developer of new accounts
• Responsible for forecasting, gathering intelligence on competitor activity, and giving feedback to marketing and engineering.
• Passion to helping customer solves complex problems whith a focus on exceeding customer expectations
• Experience using salesforce.com to manage all customer/prospect interactions, management reports, and forecasting
• Willingness to travel up to 50% as a requirement of the job
• Startup experience essential
